E and J, Summer Session

I've been thinking of blogging about this session for a while now. My sister-in-law asked me to take these this past summer for her daughter's 2 year birthday, and you probably wouldn't notice if I didn't say something, but there's actually 3 people in these photos. That little bump on my sister-in-law's belly? Well, he made his appearance into the world a few weeks ago, and he is the cutest little man ever. Perfect in every way. I cannot wait to share photos of him soon too....

But these photos are all about a momma and her little girl, the two of them and their special bond. I will be honest and say that at first I was disappointed there was no sun that day, but somehow the cloudy muted sky was perfect for this session. The pop of orange in Jen's dress was all the sunshine this shoot needed. I think it is full of love and natural beauty. I did not direct it in any way. We let Miss Ev take the lead and she was perfectly happy doing so. That's usually how the best smiles happen. Enjoy this little burst of summer;  barefeet, sunkissed skin, picking berries, playing in the sand, and mother/daughter sweetness.

It's supposed to be 17 degrees here tomorrow and this is just enough leftover summer to brighten my mood. Plus, I love these girls....
